Nikkor DX 12-24mm vs 10-24mm
on: November 16, 2009, 08:00

So where do you stand?

I have been using the Nikkor DX 12-24mm f/4 for around five years now and am still in love with it. The build quality, image quality and focusing speed have never let me down. I have used it on the D2h, D2x, D70, D200, D40, D80 and D300, without a single problem.

I love the lens. It is usually on one of my bodies all the time. I have found it sharpest at f/8 but still very acceptable at f/4. Right now I could not see getting rid of it to get the 10-24 but I haven’t had a chance to play with the new lens so who knows.

I have been involved in photography for 30 years (that makes me sound old) and currently operate an on location digital studio that specializes in wedding, portrait, commercial, event, sports, and stock photography.

On my D300, i use the Sigma 10-20, and have been very happy with it.
