UV FIlters
on: January 8, 2010, 13:13

Most of my Photographic life I have put a UV filter on all my lens “to protect them” and also filter UV when using a film camera.

I continued this trait when switching to digital but I have read that the UV aspect is no longer required since this is already done by the various layers covering the sensor. Also it is another layer of glass (to keep clean) between the sensor and the subject. So I have removed.

What are other users opinions…

I do not use them, either UV or skylight. I simply do not see why they are required.
