For anyone who follows Nikon cameras it will be no surprise that the Nikon D800 is about to be launched. There have been plenty of rumor articles and blurry photographs for at least a year. It is also not unusual that the actual product specifications and photographs of the camera start appearing from a few weeks to a few days before the official launch.

This time it is by way of a Brazilian technology website and of course nikonrumors.com. The biggest change from the current full frame Nikon D700 is the enormous increase in resolution, with a reported 36.3 megapixels. There is already quite an uproar among Nikon DSLR buyers, with the studio and landscape photographers hungry for more pixels and sports and night-time shooters wondering why Nikon did not go for better high ISO quality instead.

By tomorrow morning we should know what the excitement is all about and if anything else is on the horizon.
